What's the estimated cost of a new boiler?How long is a piece of string? All jokes a side, the cost of a new boiler can vary based on a number of factors as all homes are different, by using our online quote tool or booking. home survey we can ask you a handful of questions to help us give you a more precise quote.

How long will it take to get my new boiler?From first contact to completed installation is unique for each person depending on their situation. If your boiler has bit the dust and you're in need of something quickly we aim to have your new boiler installed in as quick as 48 hours max! Other customers may just be in a planning stage and we can work to desired timeframes from there.

What kind of warranty or guarantee do I get with my new boiler?So with each install Banks Gas undertakes we offer a 12 month guarantee as standard from ourselves to you the customer which will cover any call outs related to work we have completed (see T's & C's). All the boilers we fit come with manufacturers guarantees and these vary and range from 5-12 years depending on brand/model fitted.

What do I get for the £89 repair fee?Included in your £89 repair fee is your call out and your first hours labour for fault diagnosis. If we can repair the boiler in this first hour with no extra parts or labour required then that's all you'll pay! If that's not the case and we need to return with parts or spend extra time on the boiler we will issue a fixed price quote for you to consider before proceeding any further.

What's involved in the gas boiler service?Unlike some companies Banks Gas likes to service boilers properly! This means as per manufacturers requirements, we go by the book for your boiler and make sure we cover all bases and perform all the necessary safety checks.

What if my boiler is beyond repair?Sometimes there's only so much our expert engineers can do or how much you as a customer are willing to spend on your boiler before you decide its too much and a new boiler would be a better solution. In this scenario Banks Gas will give you a free no obligation quote and prioritise you as one of our customers.

What if I forget my annual boiler service?We understand life gets busy and one of the last things on your mind can be remembering your boiler service, so we take that burden off your shoulders and will remind you via email/text just before its due every year.

Why do I need a home survey?Installing and specifying heat pumps is a little different to lets say gas combi boilers, we have to assess your time to make sure we are sizing the heat pump and radiators correctly and also to see if your current pipework in your system is suitable. This is down to the way heat pumps work and if this step is not done correctly can leave you with an appliance that works poorly and costs you more! Oh and last thing its also a requirement to be eligible for the £7,500 government grant towards your install.

Are Heat Pumps noisy?The external heat pump unit will be positioned to current regulations and requirements and will usually fall in the 40-50db range of noise output, so not too bad considering a crying baby lets say at around 110db!

How long will it take to install?So depending on the level of work required the actual physical installation could take 3-7 days. This is due to the fact that we may need to totally re-pipe your system and change radiators or sometimes such measures aren't required and this is determined from the survey. From initial contact to the survey, design and install can take around 2-3 weeks.

What to expect during the installation process?Our expert engineers will arrive on the morning of the install and firstly guide you through the process and survey all work areas. We prioritise taking care of your property and make sure all work areas are kept clean and tidy. We will provide regular updates throughout the job on what and why we are doing things. Once the work is complete we will fully commission your system and thoroughly explain how to use it.
